Hi, I’m Coco

Coco is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being around her people and enjoys being part of the action. She's a bit of a chatty lady at times and isn't shy about letting you know what's on her mind! While she's full of love, Coco can feel worried in new environments, so she would really benefit from having someone home for the first week or so to help her settle in and learn that she's safe.

Coco would love to live indoors as a true member of the family. Crate training may be a great option for her, as having her own cozy space can help her feel secure when she's feeling overwhelmed or unsure. She can be sensitive with close handling and restraint, so a gentle, slow approach using force‑free, positive reinforcement training will help her confidence grow.

When it comes to fun, Coco has a soft spot for tennis balls - although she hasn't quite mastered the "drop" part yet! She does like to collect them and keep them close, so her new family will need to be mindful and continue working positively around resource guarding. Coco is a smart cookie who already knows how to sit and would love someone to keep her learning and building new skills.

Walks are still a work in progress for Coco. She can be unsure on lead and collar and is slowly getting used to wearing a harness. When she feels overwhelmed, she may try to pull away or slip out of her gear, so she'll need patient, positive training and gradual exposure to new walking environments. Teens may be considered in her new home, but they must meet Coco at the time of adoption, as she can be a little worried and unsure, especially on lead.
Coco is best suited to a single‑dog home, as she finds other dogs quite stressful and prefers to keep her distance. While she has been able to meet and calmly walk alongside some dogs, she generally chooses to avoid interaction and can become overwhelmed if placed in the wrong situation. With the right setup, plenty of reassurance, and lots of love, Coco will make a loyal, affectionate companion who just needs a little patience to help her shine.
