Hi, I’m Ducky

Meet Ducky - our wonderfully cheeky Japanese quail.

Ducky is a lively, bright-eyed fellow with a curious streak and a talent for making people laugh with his antics. Whether he's inspecting every corner of his enclosure, popping up to see who's visiting, or proudly announcing his latest "discoveries," Ducky brings a playful spark to any flock.

So-named because a toe injury left him with a specially-made shoe to keep his foot stable during recovery - this injury did leave him with a small, permanent quirk. It doesn't hold him back one bit (he'll be sure to tell you!) but adopters will need to sign an indemnity acknowledging this prior condition.

Ducky would thrive in a secure predator-proof yard pen with plenty of space to roam, ability to be protected from the elements, some loose dirt available for dust-bathing, and low shelters or plants to help him feel safe. Because Japanese quail can jump surprisingly high - often straight up several feet if startled - it's ideal for his enclosure to be netted in.
