Buddy is a bright, lively, and affectionate young boy who is eager to learn and thrive in a home that can match his zest for life. At just one year old, he's full of energy and has a lot of potential with the right guidance.

-Mostly Kelpie, with a touch of Staffy: Very smart and quick to pick up new skills, Buddy is an active boy who loves mental stimulation and physical activity.

- Exercise & Enrichment: This energetic pup requires plenty of daily exercise-both physical and mental. He thrives when given space to run, opportunities to learn new tricks, and engaging problem-solving activities.

- Training & Social Skills: Buddy can be a bit of a jumpy adolescent with lots of energy to burn. He has some basic training - he can sit, shake, spin, and jump onto a platform - but he would benefit greatly from ongoing positive reinforcement training. His food motivation makes him a quick learner, especially for someone enthusiastic about dog training, agility, or tricks. Have you ever considered doggie Parkour?!

- Escaping & Fencing: Buddy has a history of escaping a previous yard with inadequate fencing and figures things out quickly, so secure, high fencing is essential. He isn't suited to being left alone in a backyard for long periods; he dreams of activities such as running alongside a quad in the fields!

- Doggy Friends: He has previously lived with another dog and has made friends with some of the other shelter dogs. He may well be able to co-habit with a canine companion after a successful meet and greet.

- Leash Skills: Buddy currently does tend to pull a bit on the lead, but with consistent training, he will soon learn to walk nicely on a loose leash.

Ideal Home:

Buddy is a lovely boy with huge potential. He's probably not suitable for a first-time dog owner but would thrive with someone experienced with working breeds who is willing to invest the time and effort into his training and enrichment. With the right guidance, Buddy can become a loyal, well-behaved companion and a fantastic addition to an active family or individual.
